Julia Rowntree BA(Hons)
Julia achieved the Intermediate of NDD in 1958 and as a mature student gained a BA(Hons) degree in Illustration and Printmaking at Camberwell School of Art in 1983
Since then she has worked as an Illustrator but in recent years has been concentrating on painting for Exhibitions.Julia specialises in watercolours, and is mainly known for her floral still life, but is now persuing a variety of themes.
Her painting is stimulated by light, shape and shadow which is why her subjects have very strong forms, such as chairs, beach huts and washing hanging on lines.
She has continued thoughout this time to enjoy printmaking, linocutting and collagraph being her favourites.Also she loves experimenting with monoprints.
She has been accepted several times in the open shows at the Royal Watercolour Society and Royal Institute of Watercolours and has had many exhibitions in Kent, London and Dallas, Texas.
